Nanavati Hospital

A 700-bed expansion of the landmark Dr Balabhai Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital in Mumbai is one of the flagship projects of Radiant Life Care Group. The massive increase is aimed to stand twelve-story high along with three basements that accommodate mechanized parking stacks, support services, and an elaborate Radiation Oncology department with a lineup of three state-of-the-art services. 

The new tower comprises a generous fifty thousand square feet floor plate with 17 high-speed elevators for a seamless operation on the planning front. This hospital is a tight-fitting block in a dense urban context that finds respite through a central courtyard atrium that brings vibrancy through daylight and enhanced spatial experience. Nanavati Hospital's interior is a holistic consequence of the principle of healing architecture. Functionally, the hospital has state-of-the-art equipment such as the Pneumatic chutes, a fully integrated BMS and high infection control finishes. The indoor air quality is regulated by large windows that maximize daylight, also facilitated by an airy central courtyard to allow air circulation. The landscape is used efficiently, adjacent to the emergency and the outpatient departments and the refuge area at the fifth-floor level is designed as a therapeutic healing space that attempts to lift and revitalize the minds of the patient and the relative.
