Medicity Lucknow

This project is conceived as a hybrid medical campus that brings together an existing structure and a newly developed high-rise tower into a unified and efficient healthcare environment. The design transforms the limitations of a brownfield site into an opportunity, integrating old and new seamlessly to create a cohesive and high-performing hospital campus.

A key planning strategy is the use of hierarchical massing to organize functions clearly. The lower front block accommodates high-movement areas such as outpatient services, ensuring easy access and faster patient turnover. In contrast, the taller rear tower consolidates inpatient and critical care functions vertically, allowing for efficient use of space while maintaining operational clarity across departments.

The project also emphasizes experience and well-being through biophilic design. The arrival sequence is carefully designed to create a strong first impression, transitioning from a more controlled entry into a large, open atrium that brings in natural light and a sense of openness. Green terraces and landscaped elements are integrated across multiple levels, helping to soften the clinical environment and support patient recovery and staff comfort.

Overall, the design demonstrates how complex healthcare requirements can be addressed through clear planning, integrated development, and a strong focus on both performance and human experience.
